After the 16-inch MacBook Pro, Apple reportedly is preparing a laptop model with a smaller screen size, the MacBook Pro 14.1 inches. The laptop is allegedly going to have a “mini-LED” screen technology that promises a higher level of contrast and image quality compared to LCD screens with conventional LED backlights.
The characteristics of the mini-LED are similar to OLED screens, but the production costs are cheaper and free from burn-in problems that often descend on OLED screen types. That is why Apple is interested in using mini-LED screens in its products by 2020.
This information comes from TF International Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known as an accomplished leak about Apple’s upcoming products. Kuo said that the 14.1-inch MacBook Pro is an “upgraded version” of the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Besides the laptop, Kuo said Apple would release a number of other devices with mini-LED screens. “Includes a 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a 27-inch iMac Pro in the fourth quarter of 2020, a 14.1-inch MacBook Pro, a 16-inch MacBook Pro, a 10.2-inch iPad and a 7.9-inch iPad Mini in 2020,” Kuo wrote. in a memorandum for investors, as compiled from The Verge, Thursday (5/3/2020).
In other words, the products mentioned by Kuo will likely be present this year. Unfortunately, outside the name of the device, he has not specified what their respective specifications are like. Previously rumors had circulated that the next MacBook Pro model will again use the scissor- type keyboard , like the 16-inch MacBook Pro that slid last year.
