Qualcomm has officially introduced its latest fast charging technology. The Quick Charge 3 fast charger, now upgraded to a new technology called Quick Charge 3+. According to Jerry Chang, Qualcomm Technologies’ Senior Marketing Manager, the technology will target middle-class smartphones.
Quick Charge 3+ not only offers faster charging capabilities but is also nine degrees cooler than its predecessor. “Quick Charge 3+ offers charging speeds at a more affordable price. With this, there is an opportunity to enrich life in the world with the convenience of Quick Charge technology,” Jerry said.
Qualcomm claims, this technology can charge from zero to 50 percent in just 15 minutes. That means, statistically, the charging speed is 15 percent faster than Quick Charge 3.
This technology is present for the first time on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G smartphone which was just introduced some time ago. For information, the cellphone has a capacity of 4,160 mAh battery.
The charging speed of Quick Charge 3+ is the same as that offered by Quick Charge 4+ released in 2017. Previously, Quick Charge 4+ became Qualcomm’s most advanced charger technology.
Quick Charge 3+ also supports USB type A to type C standard charger cables. This charger also supports accessories with a 20mV voltage which is also on Quick Charge 4. In addition, Quick Charge 3+ is also compatible with previous generations.
That is, a charger based on Quick Charge 3 technology can charge mobile phones with almost the same speed as a standard chip-charged mobile phone Quick Charge 3+.
Speaking of chipsets, this technology will be available first on Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G chips which will be followed by other Snapdragon chips. Not only that, Quick Charge 3+ will support chargers both wired and wireless.
